Bryan Polk is the President and managing member of Polk CPA Firm, PLLC and a native Houstonian with over twenty years of public accounting experience working with law firms. He's assisted firms in a wide variety of practice areas including corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, family law, tax law, personal injury, bankruptcy, civil litigation, and real estate. He has helped small and large law firms save money on taxes and establish accounting systems to properly account for contingent-fee related costs paid on behalf of their clients.
Bryan’s background in law firm accounting includes a role as a Senior Tax Director for the fifth largest CPA firm in the United States, where he directed the accounting and tax planning. He also worked directly with several partners to comply with their individual tax filing requirements and minimize Federal and State tax liabilities.
Bryan provided editorial review and tax technical guidance on the development of the Texas Advanced Family Law course on Dividing Ownership Interests in Closely Held Business Entities: Things to Know and Avoid.
Bryan is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Texas Society of CPA’s (TSCPA), and participates in entrepreneurial organizations, conferences, and forums on new enterprises and start-ups through Rice University.
His education includes a Master of Business Administration from Rice University, a Master of Taxation from the University of Denver, and a Bachelors of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin.
